SPAIN WIN EURO CUP
Spian has won the long awaited Euro cup finals all thanks to Fernando Torres's 33rd minute goal on Germany.
Spain began the match looking shakey and not quiet focused but after ten minutes into the game they settled down and took apart the German defense.
The Spanish attack practically made a meal of the German defense and soon it paid off when Torres broke into attack, rushed past Philipp Lahm and slid the ball into the far corner of Jens Lehmann's goal.
German captain Micheal Ballack received a cut to the top of his eye and was in need of stitches but Ballack kept powering on, determined to see his team win this competition.
Then a misunderstanding between the two countries saw both Captians receive a yellow card at the same time.
However more of attacks by the Spanish continued in the second half, but non made it inside the net.
Insisting that one goal ahead was not enough, Lius Aragones brought in Xabi Alonso to substitute Cesc Fabregas who was the most important man in the spanish midfield.
Aragones then made the decision to replace goal scorer Torres and David Silva for attackers, Daniel Guiza and Santi Cazorla.
Germany too had their share of substitutes with Marcell Jansen, Mario Gomez and Kevin Kuranyi substituting Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Thomas Hitzlsperger.
But it was Spain who lifted the silver trophy 44 years after their last Euro cup win.
Spanish Captain Iker Casillas stood on the podium infront of a full stadium in Vienna and lifted this glorious trophy high and proud surrounded by his fellow men, all wearing their gold medals around their necks and chanting the music of the beatiful game.
