Open day Victories
Day one of the Euro Cup concludes with victory for Portugal and the Czech Republic.
Switzerland vs Czech Republich 0-1
The Czech Republic have claimed victory over Swirzerland at St.Jacob-Park with a goal from Czech's rising star Vaclav Sverkos in the 71st minute.
Sverkos had come in as a substitude and crashed the home-side's hopes of getting early points into the competition. It was his first ever international goal for Sverkos and the first goal in the Euro Cup this year.
But it did not all fail for Switzerland. There were a few encouraging shots fired by Tranquillo Barnetta and Philippe Senderos.
Switzerland's coach Kobi Khun said that they "are going to build up on what they achieved" so far for their next game against Turkey.
Portugal vs Turkey 2-0
Portugal celebrate a two goal win over Turkey at Stade de Geneve. Goal scorers Pepe, who scored in the 61st minute and Raul Miereles at 90 3, were the two lucky players who shot through the turkish net.
A 17th minute header goal from Pepe was ruled out for being offside.
Portugal is one step closer to claiming the Euro Cup, coach Luiz Felipe Scholari now has a new challenge, to beat the Czech Republic.
