MANCHESTER UNITED WILL GO TO MOSCOW

Manchester united is going through to the UEFA Champion League finals in Moscow after winnning 1-0 against Barcelona at home at Old Traford.

It was a slow start for the home side and an early goal in the game boosted their hopes to reaching the finals.

The goal came from no other than the home side favourite Paul Scholes in the 14th minute caused by a mistake from Barcelona's defense.

Though control stayed in the hands of the Spanish side for the remainder of the game.

Lionel Messi tried to redeem Barca's place with a beautiful run five minutes after the goal, but the ball was deflected by the man U goalkeeper, Edwin Van Der Saar.


One minute later Ji-Sung Park had an almost goal that just bushed past the right post.

In the 35th minute Deco shot a Volly that would have been a beautiful goal had it gone in the net.

Two minutes from half time Xavi Hernandez took a free kick that ended sham fully.

At half time Barcelona was leading in terms of posession and shots on goal but Manchester was leading on the score board.



Gianluca Zambrotta was yellow carded in the 52nd minute and Deco joined him on the Referee's list two minutes later.

Barcelona needed a man like Thiery Henry to shake things up and thats what happened as he came into the game to replace Andres Iniesta in the 61nd minte.

Michael Carrick received a yellow card for a foul on messi in the 62nd minute, five minutes later Cristiano Ronaldo was also carded.

Then Yaya Toure was booked in the 70th minute and would have missed the final had Barcelona gone through.

In the 72nd minute Frank Rijkaard finaly substituted the poorly performing Eto with 17 year old Bojan Krkic who's impact showed as soon as he entered the game.


Manchester too decided it was time for a substitution as Nani and goal scorer Scholes left the game for Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher in the 77th minute.

With agitation to equalise Barca threartened Manchester's defense as much as possible but it was like a drought for the Spanish side.

At extra time Patice Evra had to replaced due to injury, Mikael Silvestre came to play with three minutes left for Manchester.

The game ended with Victory for Manchester and only 43 per cent posession of the ball.

Liverpool and Chelsea still have their battle to be played out for the place in the finals.

No matter who goes though it's going to be an English Champions League this season.
