MariamFROM HERO TO ZERO
Every football fan has their own favourite footballer.
Our biggest dream is to one day meet that footballer because we admire and respect them.
But what happens when your hero turns out to be something other than what you expected.
As much as i love my football i wouldn't want to meet the footballers i admire because i dont want to be dissapointed by what i see.
We have to understand that all day long they are signing autographs, meeting people and shaking hands so when it finally comes our turn to shake hands, we might not always get the best response.
They're human just like everyone else, but they just happen to have a gift, a talent to excite us for 90 minutes.
Naturally, we expect too much from atheletes in general.
We expect them to set an example and be citizen role model.
Many people see this as a duty thats comes with the privilage of being a footballer.
They make mistakes, they make bad judgement and bad decisions, they have their good and bad days.
So my hero's are staying on the fied.
Off the field they're no different to what i am.
