DAY TWO: EURO CUP
Day two of the euro cup concludes and group B have played their first matches. Germany triumphed over Poland with a 2-0 win and Croatia receive their three points for their first game's 1-0 win over Austria.
GERMANY VS POLAND 2-0
Despite their success Germany are not the group B favourites to go through to the next stage.
Co-host Austria have taken that role but the German side proved that they have the most chances of going through when winning an amazing 2-0 game against Poland.
Both goals coming from the Polish born Lucas Podolski, the German forward finished off being the night's hero.
Poland struggled to pass through the German defense and no doubt they aim to win their next match against Austria.
CROATIA VS AUSTRIA 1-0
Croatia have crushed the hopes of the co-hosts Austria with their 1-0 win.
An early penalty from Luka Modric put the Croatian side at front.
Austria couldn't recover in the first half of the game but began to lift their form in the second, where they dominted most of the play.
They are now hoping to restore their position as respesentatives of Austria in their next match against Poland.
Austria's coach Josef Hickersberger is more hopeful of their next match since they have already played their first game. They need four points to qualify for the next round.
