DAY THREE: EURO CUP 2008
The world champions Italy have been crushed by the Dutch side on day three of the Euro Cup. The Dutch are now leaders of group C. Romania and France drew and received one point each.
NETHERLANDS VS ITALY 3-0
The Netherlands is celebrating their win against European giants Italy with a massive 3 goal win.
The dutch brushed up in training waiting to succeed in their opening match and break their 30 year drought against Italy.
The first goal came from no other than Ruud Van Nistelrooy in the 26th minute, the dutch football legend.
There were some doubt about the legitimacy of the goal but any speculation were ruled out by the officials.
The second goal was scored by Wesley Sneijder five minutes after the first goal.
Sneijder's goal flew right threw the hands of Gianluigi Buffon who is often proclaimed to be the number one goal keeper in the world.
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst rounded the goals to three in the 79th minute with a brillinat header into the Italian net.
FRANCE VS ROMANIA 0-0
The start of the Euro Cup campaign started badly for France but a satisfied result for Romania.
There were many chances in the game for both side to score but a goal in this match was no meant to be.
Frank Ribery had his moments on the ball but the Romanian defense stopt him at his feet.
France are currently struggling to live up to the expectations.
The French coach Raymond Domonech says that " we will have to play well in the next two matches".
The 1998 world cup winner may have some difficulties since many of their player are still from the 1998 squad.
